New to HD Blu-Ray video
I just got a new Panasonic 50" Plasma HD TV with home theater sound, and Sony PS3 Blu-Ray player (I don't play games, and wanted the PS3 just to play Blu-Ray and other video disks). I have many interests, including Opera and Classical Music, Adventure & Action movies, International Travel, and Foreign Language w/English subtitle movies, as I have lived all over the world and exposed to many languages, some of which I have picked up. I have a much-too large DVD collection, but now will only buy Blu-Ray videos as the quality at 1080p is so much better. But even my old DVDs when upgraded to better video resolution through my PS3 look much better than they did with my old TV. But now I am installing a Snow Leopard Mac Home Server on my dedicated iMac for my local Mac & PC network, and want to build an on-line library of music and videos to play through my new HD TV through whatever means I can find, probably through my Apple TV but am always open to improved quality where ever I can find it. I use my new MacBook 13" Pro for my work station on my network, which works great together with my Home Server. Now I am thinking about using a Mini-Mac as a controller for my TV interface to my computer network, which I am told makes the best system with today's technology, but I have a lot to learn to insure that any improvement this brings is worth it. I would love to communicate with others who are working along the same technology lines for home entertainment centers. I am retired from IBM Research for 19 years already, and am now 83 years young, in perfect health, crediting my vegan vegetarian lifestyle for my longevity.
